Menstrual Cycle Phase Calculator

Not sure which phase you're in? Enter the first day of your last period and your average cycle length to discover your current phase, archetype, and practices that support you right now.

How it works

The calculator uses the first day of your last period as day one of your cycle. It then counts forward to today and maps that day to one of four phases—Menstruation, Follicular, Ovulatory, or Luteal—based on typical cycle patterns. Each phase is linked to a feminine archetype and seasonal energy (winter, spring, summer, autumn) and comes with suggested practices to support you.

For a deeper look at the spiritual meaning of each phase, see our guide to the spiritual meaning of the menstrual cycle and our four phases overview.

Frequently asked questions

What is a menstrual cycle phase?
Your menstrual cycle has four phases: Menstruation (days 1–5), Follicular (days 6–13), Ovulatory (days 14–16), and Luteal (days 17 until your next period). Each phase has different energy, hormones, and spiritual significance—often linked to archetypes like Wise Woman, Maiden, Lover, and Mother.
How do I know my cycle length?
Cycle length is the number of days from the first day of one period to the first day of the next. Most cycles are between 21 and 35 days; 28 days is a common average. Track your period start dates for at least three months and count the days between to find your average.
Why does my phase matter spiritually?
Each phase connects to different energies and practices—menstruation to rest and release, follicular to new beginnings, ovulation to expression and connection, luteal to reflection and preparation. Knowing your phase helps you align activities and rituals with your body's natural rhythm.
